VITALIGHT
Let There Be Light
The VitaLight Team
We started out as a bunch of ambitious teenagers who attended a summer biomedical engineering program hosted by Hypothekids, an initiative of Harlem Biospace collaborating with Columbia Engineering. We were put together as a group and given the task of finding and solving a global health problem in struggling nations. Ultimately we decided to develop a product that would serve as a source of light in low resouce settings, during blackouts and brownouts. We extensively researched and developed a prototype of our product, The Life Lamp. We went on to win the Final Pitch event at the conclusion of the Hypothekids program, an event where multiple health tech innovations were judged by a panel of Columbia University Professors. Hypothekids has now given us the opportunity to work in the Harlem Biospace lab to continue our research in the hopes of launching our business and lighting up the world.
